Visualware Enhances Network Monitoring Solution with Automated Traceroute Capture
VisualPulse 3 Now Automatically Traces, Logs Connectivity Problems
TURLOCK, CALIF. - January 8, 2003 - Visualware Inc. today announced that it has significantly increased the functionality of its popular network monitoring solution, VisualPulse. VisualPulse 3 now allows network administrators to automatically capture traceroute (network routing), diagnostics so they can quickly isolate the cause of interruptions and slowdowns in Internet service delivery.
VisualPulse 3 monitors the availability of network devices, Web pages and application ports. The solution's new traceroute capability adds a valuable analysis tool to help administrators pinpoint the specific segment of a network connection where data is being lost. Diagnostic information is automatically captured when a warning or critical threshold is passed, allowing administrators to review the connectivity detail at the moment the problem happened.
"A major headache for any organization providing services over the Internet is determining where a connectivity problem occurs. Is it at the end-user location, the ISP, the application provider or an intermediary location somewhere along the route?" said Julian Palmer, chief marketing officer for Visualware.
